Picks
Each participant picks exactly one team from each of the 8 pots (8 picks total). A participant's score is the sum of points earned by their 8 picked teams.
1. Show Me the Receipts (Locked In)
Calculated dynamically for every match involving one of your 8 teams, as soon as the match is final.
- Win: +3 points
- Draw: +1 point
- Goal scored: +1 point each (an opponent's own goal counts in your team's favor)
- Clean sheet (match completed without conceding): +1 point
- Yellow card: +0.5 points each, Red card: +1 point each — yes, fouling people is a viable scoring strategy here
Knockout stage: results are based on the full-time score in normal time (90 minutes + injury time) only — extra time and penalty shootouts are not counted for win/draw/loss purposes.
2. Group Stage Glory (Locked In)
Credited based on each team's final standing inside its own group at the conclusion of the group stage. This is a settled fact once the group ends, so it counts as Locked In, not Wildcard.
- Group position #1: +4 points
- Group position #2: +3 points
- Group position #3: +2 points
- Group position #4: +1 point
3. The Final Furlong (Wildcard)
Fixed placement rewards for the final phases (semi-finals and final), set once the Final and 3rd-place match are decided.
- Undisputed Champion (World Cup Winner): +30 points
- So Close, Yet So Far (Runner-up): +20 points
- Bronze Squad (Third Place): +15 points
- Honorable Mention (Fourth Place): +10 points
4. The Wildcard Vault
Each category pays a flat +10 points. If multiple teams tie, every tied team receives the full 10 points.
- Boot Squad
Top goalscoring team — most goals scored, averaged per game played (an early-exit team can still win it)
- Golden Boot Energy
Team with the top individual goalscorer (e.g. if Mbappé wins top scorer, France gets 10 pts) — computed automatically from each goal's scorer
- The Wall
Best defence — fewest goals conceded, averaged per game played
- Leaky Buckets
Worst defence — most goals conceded, averaged per game played
- Lightning Bolt
Quickest goal — fastest goal relative to kickoff, across any match in the tournament
- Oops, My Bad
Quickest own goal — credited to the team whose player committed it, not the team that benefited
Final Tally
Final Tally = Locked In + Wildcard, summed across a participant's 8 picked teams. The Leaderboard breaks each participant's score into Locked In and Wildcard columns so you can see how much of their score is locked in versus still in play, and the Bonus page shows exactly which category each team or player is leading.
